    Hello,
Not really following your thinking in this post or the other two threads you've started. If your birds have mites, it's no joke. You need to treat them and their coop. If you don't they will become anemic, get sick and die. Why are you trying to make Banshee sit with another hen? Usually low ranking hens steer clear of high ranking hens because the high ranking hen will bully the low ranking hens. That's basically the pecking order at work. Don't make them sit together, they don't want to, they are not really friends.

    I couldn't agree more.

Part of responsible pet ownership is taking care of the health needs of your animals and birds. If your flock has red mites you need to treat them ASAP.

    I agree.

How could it possibly be too cold to dust chickens? You need to do it ASAP.

And leave your hens alone to roost where they wish. They are not going to freeze. They have nice down coats to keep them warm.

It hasn't been the right weather, and I only visit them on breaks etc.My. grandparents are really old, they told me.to wet so we could wash the coop out with water and.soap, that day it was in the teens, and I wanted to dust them, and wash the coop out,and dust it.The reason I sat someone by her was because, one fay it was cold in the teens like the day before, and she was shaking one day,she was so cold she could barely stand I was just concerned...

It's been subfreezing if not subzero here since Christmas. I dusted my birds last week since they are coop bound for who knows how long, and are unable to dust bathe to rid themselves of mites. You should do the same. If she is having problems with temps in the teens it could be from anemia. She shouldn't be bothered by those temps.

I can't wash down my coops now either. Here is the main one on the other side of the garden. No way I am getting a hose out there anytime soon, even if I could find a hose.
