50 chicks arrived yesterday in fine condition, none dead, from PA to OH, they only took a day and a half to get to my post office. I am going to try to keep track of feed and general weights, nothing too detailed, much too busy! The colors are a bit varied, some are just dark buff, some are very chipmunky. I'm looking forward to raising them!

Here they are at 4 weeks old! 50 of them ate (plus ~18 DP chicks which are a drop in the bucket):
    week 1 i filled up 8, 2' feeders
week 2 it was 16 feeders
week 3- 6 feeders and 25 pound bag
    week 4 ate about 2.5, 25 pound bags= 63 pounds

ETA: So far I lost one to human error, 2 to unknown causes (flip?)- found dead out of the blue- on their backs, and one has leg splay.

Are those red broilers, or something else? Freedom Rangers maybe?

I've been interested in trying the Kosher Kings. Maybe using them in a cross for some sustainable meaties. Thanks for the info on the reds. Blaine

yes I've been thinking the same thing- be curious to see how the girls lay- i am keeping about 5 hens and breeding to a del roo, then i'd like to keep a roo from that mating to get some 75% colored rangers to see how they do. I was disheartend to see the one's leg issue and flip pop up- I was hoping they would have zero issues!

My largest are a wyandotte hen and a Sumatra cock. I'm thinking about putting an Asil over the wyandotte to see if I can get the double breast and free range ability from the Asil and then use those over The KK's
