1) What type of bird ,age and weight. Mixed breed bantam,2 yrs old and 3-4 lbs
2) What is the behavior, exactly. Non active closes eyes every 5-6 seconds at a time
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? 8 hrs
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? Nope
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. She had a white goop around her eye this morning
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation .No
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. She took a sip of water,And took a quick nibble of Dumor 16% layer feed
8) How does the poo look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Runny and very stinky
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Electrolytes in water
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? Treat the bird myself
11) Describe the housing/bedding in use.. She lives in a chicken tractor/We use wood shavings/chips as bedding
I went out this morning to feed and water and noticed her in the corner with white goop in her eyes and was not moving around or being active..
The goop is gone now...
any ideas for treatment/cure???
