Non food grade diatomaceous earth

My husband used non food grade DE in our coop and run. I am worried. Can it harm my chickens? Have not been able to find good discussion about it. What should I do? Hose everything ? ....frustrated and concerned

Thank you so much. Very much appreciated. The links were helpful. When I get home today, I will check the bag that my husband used to see the details. I will hose the areas down to keep it from getting airborne but the chickens seem to be ok and hopefully there are no long ill effects from him putting down NFGDE just this one time.
