I am giving my chicks non medicated starter feed because it is non gmo and that means a lot to me. I don't want to take anything from their diet though so is there anything I should be giving extra since I am doing this?

You can give them some probiotics to get stuff going in their gut.

They had medicated for a week and a half. I am putting ACV in their water and have put sugar in their water before. They seem to be doing great. I have 13 and all seem to be healthy, active and happy. Plus I haven't had any cases of pasty butt.

The only medication in medicated feed is amprolium which is a vitamin B blocker so cocci parasites can't multiply. It doesn't protect against any other disease.

You can achieve even better protection and permanent immunity for your chicks against your local soil pathogens by digging up a small plug of sod with soil still attached to the roots and give it to your chicks during their first two weeks after hatch to encourage natural immunities to form.

    What she said!

You also might want to consider fermented feed. Check out the link at the bottom of my signature.

I don't see your signature line but would love to read about it.

I do believe from what I've read that I want to give probiotics.
