4 of 20 eggs are pipping on day 19. The first one to break through now has a red rim around on the lower end of the pipping site. Is that normal?

this is a nail biter. So hard not to just keep looking!

The red means it pipped through a vein. It could be bad, with the blood loss that this chick was supposed to absorb. It will make hatching a little messier.

It could still be ok. I have a couple who have done that. I even had one pip the yolk...those ones do not survive.

Good Luck!
