Not laying now

    Hens stop laying HI I am wondering if a hen will stop producing eggs if a rooster comes into the picture? I have two hens who were laying every second day & now with my rooster they have stopped. Is there any reason why they would not be laying or do I just have to wait and see - it has been about 3 weeks now - No eggs!!! Cheers

    Any type of stress (and a new rooster can certainly cause stress, especially if they don't care for him or he's rough/aggressive) can cause egg production to stop. But it's typically only temporary - they generally start back within a few weeks.

    We moved into our new house last summer and my hens still have not laid an egg, now my duck and goose are laying. What can I do to envourage them to start again? they were cooped in the old house and now cooped here because of cyotes. they have what i think a better coop here, and its much larger. Please help..
