Not silkie 5 toe mystery

    I got 3 of these to prove they are not bantams and not silkies. Chicks are standard size chicks, black skin/legs, 5 toes, clean legged and single comb. Worker said 'they are Amberlinks cuz they are in the Amberlink bin.' I said they are definitely not Amberlinks. She let me examine one then said an old farmer told her they were 'bannies'. They are not bantams although he probably immediately thought silkies upon seeing the black feet and 5 toes. These chicks have not even the smallest top knot so are not crested at all. I have 2 males and 1 female. Thought I could get some help from the BYC folks on possible breed. Can't wait to see them grow out![​IMG]

    The female has more of a chocolate color instead of black.[​IMG]
