    Has anyone experienced this before?

The chick hatched yesterday and sits normally. I noticed this morning that it couldnt walk. When it tries to walk, both legs paddle forward and over its head. When it tried to stand up, it rocks back on its hocks with the feet up in front. It remains upright--no flipping. I separated little one and made sure it ate (scrambled egg) and had water (with vitamins) and have hobbled the legs. I also did some gentle stretching to see if there is a structural issue. The hock joint seems tight, but not locked. Baby does look slightly 'odd'. Eyes seem slightly closer to the front than should be and the beak is smaller and maybe at a little different angle. It tries to eat, but I have not observed a successful peck yet. I decided to feed and keep separate for now to see if this is a weakness issue.

Here is video of chick with the hobbles off.

    Thanks for any advice.

Take two little pieces of straws and take vet rap and hold the straw so that it's a little bit above his feet and up to his body and take vet rap and rap it around the leg with the straw and do it with the same other leg then to and let it on for a day or two

Yes I know how it feels to loose baby chicks before I lost 2 I believe and one of them was when she was four months old she was one of my favorites had a big poofy head feathers she could hardly see she passed the day I introduced some new chickens about a month ago and I separated her the day before cause I could tell she was ill but sadly she passed the day after that poor little girl I sure do miss her the flocks just not the same without her [IMG][IMG]
