Not sure what I am doing wrong!

Thanks! WooHoo! I got 5 early pips this morning!!! One is zipping and this is the one the had pipped at the wrong end so I think he will be OK even coming out the wrong end. Already my pip rate is better and I am not at day 21 yet.
I will have to look in to the hovabator. The LG was the only type available locally so I had no choice but to go with an LG.

I am happy with the LG keeping the temps steady but I had a problem with the humidity levels going way up and down but this hatch was much better on keeping it as rebelcowboy had suggested. I ran it dry up until yesterday.

Dang it! My humidity dropped in the bator overnight to 40% when I woke up this morning. Something happened with the humidifier we had in the room and that wasn't working properly. Another had hatched overnight and one was zipped this morning but my hubby called and said he hasn't seen movement in the zipped egg all morning. I believe the humidity drop might have killed this little one while hatching???

If you are thinking of getting a new bator might I suggest a Brinsea? I have the Eco 20 and its the best bator I have ever used it will hold only roughly 24 chicken eggs tho. I like it because you can turn the eggs without opening the bator just turn the bator... I have had great success with mine over my LG...

Sorry I missed this yesterday. When that happens you can open the egg up your self an use warm water to get the chick out of the shell. Not good to make it a habit but ok when you have humidity problems already.

Thanks for all your help through this!
I had read up on that after the fact but it was too late. The little one was already gone. The darn humidifier worked fine until that night of all nights! It was something with the filter I believe. We only got it 3 weeks ago and the manual was missing from the box but I wouldn't think you would need to buy a new filter in 3 weeks like I did just see if it would help and it did.
But thank you, I had a much better growth rate and really a better hatch than what I had and it would have been even better if this hadn't had happened. Your advice on how to keep the humidity really worked. Thanks!!
