    Does anyone know the nutrition of Oat sprouts (ie protein, amino acids, vitamins and minerals) I have searched around a lot online and I cant seem to find it. I started sprouting oats for my chickens but did not know what kind of nutrition it was providing.

    thanks

    I will have to check with my mom. but I do know that sprouts are really good for you and your birds, they have a higher nutritional value than adult plants.

    Hulless Nebraska Oats
    Hulless, tender and very quick to sprout.
    These are a wonderfully tender grain with a mild sweetness.
    Raw, not cooked, not heated, not hulled.

    Seed to Sprout in 1-3 Days
    Yield = 1.5:1
    Seed Shelf Life at 70° = 2 years
    Sprout Shelf Life = 1-2 weeks

    Nutritional info:
    Vitamins A, B, C and E
    Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Niacin, Phosphorus, Potassium
    Amino Acids
    Protein: 15%

    Iam gonna start sprouting for my chickens this winter as an experiment.If I can find the grains so far 50lbs of wheat is not to be found this year.I can get oats so it might be what Iam using.Bird seed too.
