Nutritional Yeast for dogs?!

Hey everyone!
We were eating popcorn, and we had heard someplace to sprinkle nutritional yeast on for flavor. Typically, my pooch isn't crazy for popcorn. Will eat it, but doesn't adore it. Well, today as we were munching on the flavored popcorn, we gave her a kernel. She LOVED the nutritional yeast popcorn much more than regular! Is it harmful to them? I couldn't find info online conclusive to either. Thanks!

I have a book on natural care for cats and dog - haven't even looked at it for a while and don't remember the name of it. The author has some recipes in there for making your own pet food and I believe that Nutritional Yeast is one of the ingredients she has in all the recipes.
