My very first ever duckling order I purchased from Metzer's and I ordered 8 F mixed ducklings and 2 SR WH and when I was out tending to the ducks this morning I noticed one of my chocolate runners wasnt quacking! Its real raspy just like a male [IMG] I took a video and it is uploading right now to photobucket. I will post it as soon as its done.

Maybe he'd just been in the water before he was sexed. Shrinkage, you know?

Yeah it does sound like a male, I have heard it happening. The accuracy isn't 100%, but too, at 8 weeks, it is possible that the quack isn't fully developed yet, as it seems like a loud male if it's a male.

My Pekins at 8 weeks were doing a high pitched whistle that sounded like WAAAAAT. I would give it a while yet just incase you have a late bloomer.

It doesn't quite sound like a male, more like a muffled female to me. You'll know for sure in a few weeks as it should start to get a drake feather.
