Seems like my chickens have issues whenever it comes to eating oatmeal. They don't know whether to spill it everywhere to use it to warm cold toes, or to gobble it up. Often, they do both at the same time, while also wearing it all over their feathers like it was the latest fashion.

Those oatmeal bits are going to take forever to groom out.

Blob of oatmeal on the back, I think a turkey had a hand in that!

Haha. That's funny. Oatmeal looks like its gonna be hard to get out of the feathers.

I guess they do save it for later with it being on their toes and feathers! They are such silly girls (and boys). The turkeys care less about the snacks than the chickens, preferring to flaunt rather than eat, hah.

I love the pictures. You have beautiful birds. Mine love to play in anything I put in even their food.

No, no, no....don't you know - oatmeal is a FABULOUS wattle-mask! It really helps to keep the wattles super smooth and silky to the touch!
At least that's what my pullets and especially my rooster say!

I agree with Life is Good!.......I have some boys who are very well endowed in the wattle line and they end up with a thick coating.

Just a word of warning......stand well clear when they decide that the 'oatmeal wattle mask' has been on for long enough. They have a furious head shake and porridge shouts for several feet around.

Haha! My males don't have massive wattles they can lather up with oatmeal goo, but they certainly do try! Though the turkey wattles tend to get pretty coated. The turkeys have a habit of gobbling some oatmeal, then sneezing [IMG]
