My DH thinks I have the chickens trained - because every time you go out the front door they all line up by the gate .. waiting for food.

This is the view from the front door

they get layer feed all day, corn on really good mornings, and they get oatmeal every morning sometimes with fruit sometimes without it just depends on my cooking mood that morning LOL plus they get fresh veggies, bread , some leftovers from dinner - my girls ( and Clyde lol) are very spoiled well feed little kids.

DH is getting better about going in there but I dont think he will EVER feed them thier oatmeal again I have another pic of them all around his feet and he was having a hard time moving out of the way- poor guy
think that is why he wants to get banties this spring instead of the bigger birds LOL

Very sweet. Out girls have learned to associate us with treats so they follow us all around the yard now. They will even peck at the back door.

It is a sad thing when I go to the store to buy food for the house - the animals list is just as long as mine !! between the chickens, ducks, dogs, birds the grocery store is making more money than the whole pet store.

but I guess it is only fair - sooner or later they will start laying eggs.

That is a great idea. I

am impressed they are not pecking the heck out of each other. If I was to feed mine (and not give them a bunch of seperate little areas to eat) they would beat up on each other the entire time! It is just terrible.
