Obsessed with the nest box???

Our brahma banty, Sandy, has been sitting in the nest boxes for the past week. She's not doing anything in them, just sitting in them. Her face is bright red, and she has recently developed her little red wattles. They are soo cute! I will try to get a close up picture of her today before work.

I'm guessing her age is about 17 weeks. Is this behavior common of a girl about to lay? Please!!!! I want an egg so bad!!! lmao!

She is cute! I never had a hen sit in a nest like that, but she could be waiting for an egg. Is she feeling OK, and not resting becuase she is ill? Only time will tell!

my husband built some boxes for her from pictures off of mypetchicken.com. We have several, and she sits in them all! We have fake eggs and golf balls in them too, and she just sits on top of those.

She's not sick. She takes her naps on the ground with the other girls. But her age is about right, so maybe she is just getting a feel for them?
