Obtaining permission from city to raise chickens.

    We hope to eventually be able to have chickens on our property that was a farm at one point in time. We have a chicken coop, barn and some outside shelters on several acres but our city has not allowed anyone to raise chickens at this time. Any ideas on getting permission? thanks, Betty
