Odd shaped “M” tail that arcs down…is there a reason for this?

It's a perfectly normal tail. It merely has some adult feathers starting to grow with baby down left.

The chicks are in their gangly, awkward stage. Half fluff, half juvenile feathers. They look incredibly funny during this stage, so you'll see a lot of oddities here and there as the grow from cute chick down to sleek adult feathers.
