Neoma's eyes flickered open. The sunlight cut into her sight like a blade, and made her already pounding head feel as though it had been split open. The clearing she was in had a small pool in it, and the stream water whispered with the breeze.
In her unconsciousness, she had faltered on her control of her warping, and it had seeped back into her scales. Her leg was only oozing blood now, and as Neoma slowly raised her head to get a good look at it, saw dried blood caking the wound.
She groaned. Her sprained wing, punctured leg, and bruised skull wasn't going to make moving very fun.
She dropped her head again and closed her eyes, knowing that whether or not she was alone, she wouldn't be very mobile- WAIT!
A clearing??
Her eyes sprang open again. Her head jerked up, and she saw the weird not-flaming dragon nearby again. Dizziness slammed into her from the quick lifting of her head, and she yelped.
She slowly tested her other limbs. She obviously couldn't get away, but she wasn't looking to do so yet. She knew it wouldn't end well if she attempted escape.
She sat up slowly and put weight on her talons, except of course the injured one. Seeing that though she was exhausted and sore beyond belief she could move, she slowly slunk to the water.
Neoma saw the dragon nearby jerk, as though she was afraid Neoma would try to get away.
"Relax." Neoma rasped. "I need water and I can't really do a whole lot anyways."
She lowered her head, enjoying the cool water flowing down her throat. She stepped further in, allowing it to wash over her and rinse the sand from her scales. She stood in the shallows of the stream and lowered herself down so that it could flow over her back. The coldness helped with her aching muscles.
Escape was so tempting. If her wing wasn't sore, she would be gone in an instant because of how fast and small she was; but her wing wasn't totally up to it...
She sighed and closed her eyes, staying where she was in the cool water.
