have not been into bantams very long but have seen alot of people keeping them in above the ground penns, is this agood idea or should i keep them on the ground, read where someone said they would most likely not go to setting in a above the ground pen, but my silver duckwing hen did & done great, can anyone help out here? allso what size does the pen need to be for a trio of bb reds? Thanks

I have both types of pens. My cochins and other fuzzy feeted birds are on the ground mostly because they like to dig and dust bath more than my OEGB's.
My game bantams are off the ground and they do just fine. My OEGB has never gone broody but I have silkies...so I have all the broodiness one needs...lol.

My pens for the OEGB trios are 4x4x4 and they have plenty of room.

Good luck and welcome to BYC!
