I do both of these too.


I've just added 3lb ankle weights today..just for my thingies (and these above) exercises.
Ankle weights are fine for walking but, not IMHO advisable for these exercises specifically because of the potential "bulking up" of the stomach & spinal muscle groups. Bulking up is gaining mass around the waistline while strengthening. Using body mass and gravity alone will tone and sharpen muscle fibre and show the cuts and eventually the cliché 4-pk, then 6-pk etal. Plus the bulking of the waistline will over time decrease your flexibility for things like toetou Hing etc.
