For anyone who has issues keeping dust baths bone dry in a rainy/semi-snowy environment, I highly recommend The Turtle.

In the sand of the coop floor.
Under a window under an angle in the run (wind and rain-screen)
When they free roam with no rain : between the thyme plants .

And they used to like to bathe in a big pot with sand in the coop with mixed playgroud sand, yellow coloured soil from the garden containing clay and a little diatomaceous earth. I had to fill it up every month bc they spilled a lot. But after I finished the bag with playground sand I took a bag of coarse sand (leftover we had in the shed) to fill up the pot. Now they spill way less and prefer the other spots more. If there is a chicken in the pot nowadays its more often to lay an egg 🥚 than to take a bath 🛁 . 🤣
