Well, I'm fully submerged into chicken-mania.... building my brooder, baby chicks due to arrive next Tuesday, and two full grown silkies and a cuckoo maran roo in my garage happying croaking out little songs and eating treats. And then, I get this telephone call from my son, "MOM the silkies laid an egg in the baby pool. Isn't that great??!"
So much for thinking that they won't lay until they have a "perfect" environment and nest boxes. I can't believe how excited we all were over one tiny infertile egg!
