2 neighbors and I have started a new flock--2 Ameraucanas 3 Rhode Island Reds and 1 beautiful girl with a black saddle and red neck and black legs. My husband and I had a wonderful flock 3 years ago but we also rescued a Wiemaraner. He liked the chickens, too, but for VERY different reasons. Now our girls are in a dog free zone and doing great. We just acquired 8 pullets--2 buff orpingtons, 2 Black Jersey Giants, 2 Barred Rocks and 2 Red Jerseys. They are a hoot and growing like weeds. Everyone is free range with lots of laying pellets available. Love the chicken life!
