oil preen gland

    My hen was viciously attacked by guineas last year and nearly died. The incident left her without feathers and her oil gland looking like this. Each side looks like a tiny, dirty cauliflower head. I see no actual oil gland that sticks up. Should these "cauliflowers" be cleaned? They aren't red/inflamed looking, more like hardened, dirty oil. Am I to assume correctly her glands were pecked open and have never covered back over?

    I hope that you can get some help with this. Have you tried treati for an infection? I have no experience with this, so hopefully others will chime in.
