I hatched 2 silkie mixes last night, one has her 5th toes in the right spot but the other one is very strange. Her 5th toes are small and only the tips grew, on the middle of the 4th toe!? She keeps pecking at them and crying. I'm not sure what I can do. What could have caused this?
(sorry these pics might not be the best)

Well she is a silkie mix so you could have soem with five toes or any variation from that

If it were me, I would take her to an Avian vet and have the toes removed.

I would probably do the same. Hopefully others can join in and give their opinions.

I'll look around in my area and see if there is any Avian Vets. She's getting picked on by the other new chicks :( I have her quarantined off with some cardboard and I feel really bad for her.

I have 3 perfectly fine silkie chicks. :) They all have those exact toes. :) They won't trip them up later in life, and it's normal. :3

That's a good start! I would still ask you local avian vets and ask their opinions.
