I would like any info on what breed of chicken this is. It's black with an iridescent green shimmer. It also has black feet.

Quote:I think so too. But just for surety's sake, what color are the bottoms of his feet? Pink=Australorp, yellow=Jersey Giant.

Without looking I'm betting on Black Australorp, I've got two white jersey giants and this little guy isn't half the size of them at 8 weeks old.

Black Sex Links also look just like this at that age.

Australorp, or Jersey Giant. I have both! Is the chicken mild towards humans? My Jersey Giant doesn't mind being picked up, but my Australorps do. Good Luck!

I agree that it's probably a roo. I have two of these and this ones comb is definitely more developed and redder, that said at this age it really is just a guess.

It's not even fully feathered, and yet the comb is big and red, and wattles are also there.
