OK... somehow turkey Swolled his tounge.... any advise?

I have a 3-4 year old BR Tom, I thought something was caught in his throat as a stick like looking shape was seen in the wattle about 3 inches down from his chin. I opened his mouth and moved the mystery item around and out popped his tongue???????????? I put it back.... However it stayed for a bit, but is now back where it was? What should I do, he seems other wise fine and can still run like the wind from me......

Any one with ideas? I was going to try and hold him down in the morning and see if I should stitch his tounge in place... or if it really is out of place.... or what's really going on.......
