Okay my Ancona is trying to go broody but...

    1. I think she's too young... 5 1/2 mo old.
    2. She rolls her egg and the pingpong ball under her, lays there on them for about an hour, then leaves. Not enough patience or too hot.
    3. I read Anconas aren't the broody type but she has also made liars out of them on other things Anconas aren't supposed to do.

    This all started after I placed a pingpong ball in 4 of the ten nestboxes to encourage a couple of my older pullets(5-6months old) to lay, or at least let them know where. She has done this with the last 3 eggs she has laid. By the way, these birds are awesome layers, almost daily.

    Obelisk, my Leghorn, was like that too, but once she settled, forget it! You'd get shredded if you went near her.
