I have a chicken that was just given to me. The poor featherless chicken:( I noticed today that it has a bump on its chest is that normal?? the picture isn't that good, she is very camera shy sorry.

    Oh - poor things.

Did you get both from the friend?

In bump, do you mean the bulging crop that has feathers or the bare part that it's resting on?

What conditions did these guys come from?

I'm no expert, but that's where their crop is. Does it stay big, or is it down in size in the morning?

ETA: poor chickens to have that many feathers gone.

Poor darlings. Hope their feathers grow back soon. Initially I would say you are either talking about their crop or their breast bone, but you don't give much information.

That's where the crop is so I am guessing an issue with that. Is she eating and pooping normally? Does the lump expand and contract during the course of a day? Does her breath smell sour? Answering those questions would be helpful.

Edited because I can't spell. Past my bedtime.

Thank you, I was hoping to hear it was the crop. They came from a house with 4 hens and 3 roosters. I hope they come out of it and do well.
