and this morning I found a half pecked baby in the middle of the coop!!!! My durn chickens grabbed that baby and pulled it out from under the broody....[IMG] Needless to say, they are banned from the coop for a while. I penned them up with the geese, and BOY are they ticked off!!!The chickens and the geese. [IMG] The eggs weren't due to hatch until tomorrow, and I almost stepped on it when I went in to check on her. I put it up under her, and she was so thrilled to have it back! I noticed another egg was pipped, too! (and one was mashed like a turkey pancake.....but we don't want to talk about that.... [IMG]) This is a Broad-breasted hen we're talking about. She tries sooooo hard to be careful with them, but bless her, she is a cow. It's like watching an elephant sitting on a litter of kittens. Lets hope she's a good mother.....its looking real good right now! [IMG]
