Once you have the indoor pens set up it will be easier.. the weekly cleaning of shavings and poo makes a great ground cover like a mulch and teh poo will slowly release into teh ground with each rain.. when tilled and turned back in come fall it will soften and richen the soil alot. I plan to use paper feed sacks between rows this year for weed prevention, the earth worms like them too so they will keep teh soil loose for me. I think Brandon plans to have a "Pick your Own" fresh veggie business this summer as well plans to go to the farmers market with some of the extras. I think that with over 2lbs of cantalope seed, and 3/4 lb of watermelon seed then everything else he should do pretty good.

I certianly hope you like Black Birds.. because you got a bunch of them... I did see 2 Blue NN's though.. They must hatch hungry... they're eating the egg shells..
Your hatch is almost done and NanaKat's cochins are just starting to Pip.

You need Boy's they like to play in the dirt and mud, just tell them not too and it's good as done, or if they are like my youngest tell him he can make a buck at it and he is focused.

Okay everyone... spring is around the corner... I am getting in the mood... for birds that is...
My flock is very small now because of the varmits this winter...
Im really in the mood for ducks, guineas and a few chickens ( no particular breeds)
I just need my feather friends back.
