Just wanted to share my brooder design. I work as a contractor so I have all kinds of odd extra things laying around. I decided to make a brooder from some old doors that have been in my basement, just hanging out. There sheet of 2 inch foam board with a piece of 1/4 inch ply underneath. And I've used red oak shavings from some projects I've been working on as the bedding. Have 6, 7 week olds and 21, 3 week olds that I can't wait to get outside.

This is so cool!! That clear panel is genius!

Is it all the way down to the ground so they can't get to each other, or is it raised slightly? I can't see from the pictures.
Thanks! This is my first time raising and keeping chickens, so I'm learning as I go. But yes the plexiglass was all the way down. Just for the first two weeks. I put a strip of duct tape on it just so they could see there was something there. Haha.
