Old girl - alert but not mobile...

Hi all,

hope you can help...

I have a old girl who I thought was egg bound, she looked sprightly but was "hiding" from the others, and had the symptoms I read about relating to egg binding... so I took her away. Gave her more calcium and a rectal massage, and nothing. Yet she seemed to be perking up away from the rest of the guys. We live in Spain and it's particularly hot at the mo, she's now not moved for days, but is perky and will drink and eat a little. Each day her feet have changed, yesterday all scrunched up, today lay right out behind her. She won't stand. Any ideas??

Very sorry to hear of your troubles.

Check her pupils for any changes. It's possible she's got Marek's if there's weakness in her legs.

When was the last time you wormed your flock?
