I been following the threads dealing with introducing younger chicks to older chicks. I have 5 9 weekers and 4 5 weekers. The older ones are twice the size of the younger ones. The 5 weekers are quickly running out of room in their crate.
For the past 2 weeks the crate has set beside the older ones coop, so today I put the crate in the coop thinking I may try to put the younger ones in the coop tonight.
Well.... the bigger ones were very curious and of course came right over to check the little ones out. No agression, looking good. Until the smallest of the younger ones noticed he was being watched. He jumps up, pecks, flogs, etc., etc.
He ain't having none of it. He acts like he'd whip em all.
What to do? Think maybe I could start with comingling the 2 biggest ones and leave him and another in the crate until he grows a bit more?
