Hi! We found this chicken soaking wet and sad looking in a large puddle in a field and decided to save her from the storm and bring her home. Checked if anyone was missing her but no avail. Sweet, always wants to come inside the house. We have had her for about 4 days.....but then this morning she crowed like a rooster. And now I'm confused! Is this a male? [IMG]

[IMG] It looks like a cockerel = probably 'dumped' by some SOB. Well done on your part in saving him.

Unless it's very young it looks like a female to me. This is my Lavender hen:[IMG] and this is my rooster [IMG]

Sometimes it's so hard to tell until they get order. Usually if the crow like a rooster they are a rooster. Lol my one Lavender rooster has a 2 syllable crow and the other has a 4 syllable crow. Chickens can be so crazy!

I would have to agree with sour on this one -- looks like a cockerel.
