Finished doing dished went out to check on the new chicken and look here!!

What a nice thank you for bringing her to my place...[IMG]

    ...... my earlier post...........
I got this new Rooster Now. He was found this morning under a horse trailer of one of the girls of my 4H horse group. Her mother asked me if I knew anything about chickens. They don't have any poultry. She had no Idea where he came from ?? And the neighbors around this property don't have chickens. I told her if anyone comes around looking for a missing chicken send them my way..
So I brought him home in a box. [IMG]
Told DH I had a present for him :|
He said it's not an animal, is it??
Gave him the box and said It's alive [IMG]
He shook his head [IMG] I said well [IMG]
and told him how it was found...
Sooo Now He is in our out door furnace shed in the Duck Carrier. He will stay seperate from the others for at least 3 weeks before I would even think about putting him in with our others..

I have no idea what breed he is...

    anyone got an idea?
Ya all know how hard it is to take photo of a bird in a cage???
Of course ya do I know you've been there too

Looks like maybe a young Rhode Island Red roo. The comb seems too elaborate for a hen. A little bit of black is common in the darker RIR's.

looks like a rhode island red hen. there are no pointy saddle feathers... unless it has crowed it is a hen... how old is it???

Looks like a production red/RIR female there, at least 8 months old if not older via looking at those feathers.
