OMG I have a lot of chickens!

    Have you ever actually put it on paper? Wow! I did that this morning so i could track who's laying and the ages of everyone and i couldnt belive how many i "actually" had! My DH just laughs and tells me "Its going to be worse now that you have a bator too"
    I love that man!!!!

    This is a serious addiction! [​IMG]

    Here are the totals:

    Laying hens- 1 BR, 7 RIR, 5 BO

    3 months old- 5 BS, 8 SLW, 3-GAME, 10-BR

    1 month olds-20 BO, 10-EES

    3 week olds- 4 TURKEYS, 4-EES, 4-BR, 10 ORPS

    1 week olds- 17 BJG, 5 P COHINS, 5 BO

    for a total of....103!...103!!!!!

    I still have hatching eggs coming next week and 20 BO coming the last week of april...

    and to think, i started with 6!

    You are so lucky you can have that many. I live where I can only have 4!!! I mean really just 4 why not 10???

    oh, I hear you! it's so much fun to have chickens.

    but...we went for three years with anywhere from six to 10 hens and roosters and then, this year, bang! we now have our regular flock of nine, plus four ducklings and 59 new chicks!

    how did we go from 9 to 63 in a matter of two weeks????

    sigh.

    it is fun, though!
