OMGosh! One pullet started squating for me

I went out to check on the hens and my 19 week Red Star did the squat for me when I went to pet her. Then she shook it off. I was so happy I almost screamed. Then I did it again for fun so I could see her do again.

Come to think of it she was looking in the nest box briefly today.

I've had pullets before but its been 4 years or so since, so how long, a week or so? or is it too hard to tell yet when that long awaited pullet egg arrives?

I went out to replace the golf balls with ping pong balls today and I found a beautiful dark brown pullet egg!!

She was so excited too, its rainy and nasty here today and she was the only outside when I went out to the hen house. She came running into the house and was looking in the nest box as if to show me.

She was very proud of herself and so am I!!

For all those waiting, be patient, eggs will come

Congratulations!! I have one 25 week EE that's been laying for 3 weeks (come on you 2 lazy 25 weekers!) but have a 20 week old Black Australorp that has been doing that adorable "squat" for the past week! Can't wait for another layer
