I'm not having any luck finding pullets or hens for sale near Rockford, IL.

so I bid on "PAIR EXHIBITION BUFF COCHINS" thinking they were both hens but now I'm not so sure. Does a pair always mean hen + rooster? For some reason I'm not able to email that seller through the auction page to ask him-

    Thanks
    Jen

Right, thank you. Any chance this is a silent type of rooster? We're not really allowed to have them here...

Pair doesnt always mean Male-Female, but it usually does. If it says its a pair of pullets, then obviously it isnt. As for it being quiet, dont count on it.

Yikes! I wonder if that breeder is willing to just take payment for her, I'll have to ask him if I get it. Shame to break up a nice breeding set but maybe he has others to match him with. He's a bit too pretty to process and these were meant to be pets not lunch-

So I may be back to see if anyone wants a buff cochin rooster in NE Illinois! stay tuned

I looked at the auction, and my guess is that it is a hen and rooster.

i sell pairs all the time. i won't break them up. trying to sell a rooster by itself is a booger of a job. you better contact the seller, he'll be ticked.

A pair would be a roo and a pullet. Unless someone specify saying a pair of pullets......

Most of the auctions that sells a pair meaning a roo and pullet.
