i attempted my first duck eggs last month.
i started with 6 shipped eggs, they all made it to lockdown but somewhere they died.2 of them internally pipped and only one hatched.i think it was my humidity and i am reading more and learning more.
with the one duckling tho, should i get another?.
I am happy with one but it may not be.it is a runner.i have chicks and poults to keep it company.

Aww if it were me I'd get them a buddy, I had one hatch and bought a buddy for it and then I also put it in with some chicks to keep them company. My chick (they kept getting out and now I only have one :

) is 7 weeks old and my ducks are 5 1/2ish weeks old. They are much bigger now then the chicken, but they all get along very well. They're the best of buds.

No problem and thank you. I keep patching holes but they are tricky guys those chicks and they just do as they please LOL.

Your Duckling is beautiful BTW.

Ducks are like potato chips, you can't have just one!!!! LOL i would for sure get a duck buddy for your duck! just like MAMADUCK1 said, if you are getting one get it now or you'll have imprinting issues.....
