So it is getting dark early here now and we try and lock up around sundown. I posted about having problems with a Neighbor recently. So we are out doing our feeding and tucking everyone in for the night. We are on the last pen the birds are going up to perch and we hear a thump. Not unusual it takes them a while to figure out who's going to go where. But I hear some flapping then other birds jump on that bird and when we stop and turn the birds down, I mean down and not getting up. So I picked her up checked her out, tried blowing in her face. That what that eyes closed she's gone. Now this group didn't get to go out today and I am so thankful that it happened in front of me because I would not want to think my Neighbor did her in. I looked her over good she a Buff Orpington was heavy for her size. Looked her all over for signs of damage or mites or anything not right. Her vent looked a little open but I don't know what it is suppose to look like on a good day. So the only thing I have not done is worm. I hear pumpkin was a natural wormer but we never got any. So If I go and worm them how soon would you eat the eggs and would you eat that days eggs. What's the window? Any thoughts on my bird would be welcome. I have NPIP folks coming out this week I guess I should tell them. Thoughts?
