We had a bantam cochin that just recently hatched (Thurs)and it will not stop chirping. It seems to be able to walk around okay but I have not seen it eat or drink. I did put it's beak in the water trough. It is with about 15 other chicks. It just stands there chirping non stop. We took int out of the incubator after it was dry thinking it was chirping because it was lonely and could hear the other chicks but it is still going. Any ideas on what could be wrong or to stop it from constantly chirping?

Thanks
Chris

Since it hatched Thursday, it will need water and food by Sunday. It may simply be absorbing its yolk sac. Keep supervising it closely, when did the others of its kind begin to eat/drink? It will not hurt to offer electrolytes or vitamins in the water. Start worrying tomorrow as you observe this one. I'm hoping your difficulty will be resolved soon.
