One of my 'Wellies' Came out black and white!! Help! what IS it?

    Woke this morning to a game of 'what is different in the bator?',
    and found new chicks hatched, but one is black and white!
    they were bought as pure welsummers... ahem, but guess not!

    Is it possible you got a surprise egg?

    Hope the rooster didnt get into the Welsummer pen otherwise it would be a cross bred chick.

    Looks like there might have been a little "fence hoppin" going on!(that's what my Dad referred to as cheating!) It sure is cute!

    Is it possibly a new genetic mutation in the colour? Are you going to keep it and see how it turns out?

    strange. i bought some wellie eggs for a friend of mine and he had a little black and white one hatch out too! frankly, i thought he just mixed up the eggs, now i'm not so sure lol

    I did email the shipper of the eggs to see what 'other' chickens he might have... Ahem...
