Only 2 chickens are laying?

Hi ,

I have 4 chickens and only 2 of them seem to be laying.(they are nearly 2 years old) I have checked outside for hidden eggs but there dont seem to be any. I feed them on layers pellets in the morning and mixed corn in the after noon plus they get fresh veg.They get extra oyster shell as well.

it is march. i don't know where you are at but that could have an affect. are you only getting two eggs or are you only seeing the two hens lay?

Do you have sex-links? I found that my sex-links slowed down with the laying, some even stopped, at around 2 years of age. The older girls still eat layer pellets, but they just don't lay anymore. It's hard separating the food into two lots, so we just let them get on with it.
