I'm a bit conflicted, but I am going to guess cockerel for now. The crest is pullet-like, but the feather coloring and pattern is pushing me the other direction. Please update! I am very curious!

With the "burnished, metallic" gold coming in on the hackles, despite the neatness of the comb I'd have to say it's a cockerel. By this age I would have expected to see some gold shoulder patches though. @Overo Mare what say you?

My eyeballs see pin feathers instead of gold lol. They're not the greatest though.

So lots of people have said hen because of the neat hairdo and zero wattles, but I see saddle feathers..lol
he or she is on 9 weeks old? so I know early to tell but wanted some guesses please

Pin feathers are new feathers coming in.
Sickle feathers are the long curved feathers on a cock/erels tail. The swoopy ones.
