Hello all!

I have noticed orange poop in my chicken run. I’m not sure who it is coming from - I stand out there and watch and watch but can’t catch any ladies in the act.

Most of the poops in the run are healthy but there are always a few of these orange poops. They are sometimes slimy looking, sometimes slightly foamy, sometimes mixed with half of a healthy poop. What could be going on?

I treated my flock of 12 for coccidiosis a few weeks ago. Only a few were showing symptoms with blood in the poop, but this looks entirely different. They haven’t had any treats out of the ordinary lately. I haven’t seen any parasites or worms, but will be treating with safeguard for worms as we are moving into the fall.

What else could this be?

These look like fecal droppings, so no reason for concern as fecal matter is more fluid that the usual poop.

Did you feed them tomatoes?

Foamy can be a sign of worms, so your treatment with safeguard would be just the right thing to do: 5 consecutive days.
