Ordered some horizontal water nipples.

After a lot of research, I decided to go with the horizontal water nipples. I found a couple threads on this in this forum. How many of you are using them and how do you like/dislike them?

I tried the vertical a few years back and they were terrible. Some had luck with them but I didn't. I am interested in something that won't freeze during the winter months.

I agree. I am intending on training my chicks that are now about two weeks old. Some say they will not be strong enough to trip the metal valve. I will share my findings.

I use the "other" water nipples, but struggle hanging 5 gallons (50 lbs!) for my chicks. I have been considering horizontal nipples also. So I'll be watching to see how it goes for you!
BTW I've tried supporting from the bottom but so far stands i have built are rickety and more dangerous than hanging from chains.
I fear the water bucket crushing my chickens.
AND...i hear the horizonal 'cup' attatchment needs to be wiped out periodically. ANOTHER thing to clean? No thank you!
I add 1TB apple cider vinegar for each gallon water for their health and no rust.

I’ve been using them for four years and haven’t really had any problems. The chickens all learned how to use them real quick. It doesn’t get that cold where I live and I’m the summer I do put out buckets of cool water for them though because it’s easier to drink from.
