I ordered 3 Speckled Sussex pullets from my local feed store and picked up the chicks 4 days ago. They order from Cackle Hatchery. Since I am brand new to raising chickens, I need help identifying the chicks. I am pretty sure they are not Speckled Sussex. Can anyone help me identify the breeds?

Looks like an Amerecauna to me I actually have a chick just like that here is a pic of her when she is only a few days old.

They don’t look like Speckled Sussex chicks. If they are Easter Eggers they will feather out beautifully.

I don't know what that is but it's not a speckled Sussex . it's carrying the eb (brown ) allele because it has a brown helmet on its head. Speckled Sussex are based on the Wheaten (eWh) or the wild-type (e+) allele , neither of which result in a brown helmet.

Every Speckled Sussex we’ve gotten in looks mostly like this:

Some have better solid striping but always the orange color with chipmunk back stripes and eyeliner.
