Ordinary electric fence charge controller for electric mesh fencing?

We have two electric fence chargers that we previously used to keep deer out of the garden. One requires 120v AC and the other is solar. I'm hoping to use these with electric net fencing for chickens, but I'm not sure if special chargers are required. It seems these would be OK. They stopped nearly everything from entering the garden. The solar charger is .5 joule and the other is 5.5 or 11 joule. Both are digital and have a very brief charge about every second.

It looks like I've found the answer in the 'predator' section. Seems any fence controller will be OK. I'll give mine a try.
